If your friend has a meth drug problem but no money because he doesn’t work. How do you check somebody into rehab? or how do you get the necessary steps to help somebody that has been doing this for 14 years? Is there hope for somebody like that? Help me to help my friend!! in Rancho Cucamonga, CA

I am sorry to tell you but outside of prayer there is nothing that you can do for this person. As a recovering addict and alcoholic the decision has to be that of the addict.If they get themselves into enough trouble rehab could be mandated by the court. There is really no help until the addict is ready to change his or her own life. No one other than the addict or the court can check them into rehab. Like I said, “pray always”, but it is up to that person to correct his or her behavior in this matter, we all have free will- so, will they want to ever change? No one knows but the addict them self… and that takes time- Everyday for the rest of their lives they make the decision to use or to stay clean, EVEN IN RECOVERY!
